The British Library’s Business & IP Centre is your 'go to’ place to turn your bright idea into a thriving venture. Start-up Day is the most important date in our calendar – a full day designed to equip you with the knowledge, connections and inspiration you need to launch your business with confidence.

Think of Start-up Day as a taster of what the Business & IP Centre offers throughout the year, from practical, jargon-free support and resources to a dedicated business community.

Sneak peek of the day:

Pitch to the Doorbell of Dreams

We’re thrilled to announce that HelpBnk, the team behind the viral Doorbell of Dreams, will be joining us at Start-up Day this year!

Master your 60-second pitch with the HelpBnk team, pitch live to Simon Squibb’s Doorbell of Dreams, and receive feedback from their Celebrity Entrepreneurial Panel. Plus, explore their exclusive Starter Kit – a full year of free tools designed to help you launch and grow your business.

Starting at 9.30am, the Doorbell of Dreams will operate on a first come, first served basis all day. Please come early and be prepared to queue. Limited spaces.
