The British Library’s BIPC are pleased to collaborate with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) under the ‘Kickstart your business’ programme: 

This session will demonstrate the key steps to take when registering as a sole trader for self-employment and how to register your small business. During the session we will cover:

  • your obligations to HMRC
  • what to do if you are thinking of Self-employment to be your own boss
  • we will explore how to register yourself and your new small business
  • the Self-assessment requirements you need to be aware of this includes the tax system, tax payments, how to pay and when (key dates for 2024/2025)
  • after the general overview, we will have a Q&A session for participants on registering for self-employment or registering their small businesses.
