Explore some of the world's most exciting, beautiful and significant books, maps and manuscripts in our permanent exhibition.
There are fewer items in the gallery at the moment due to ongoing maintenance. You can still discover works by Andrea Levy, Monty Python and Shakespeare, and see the Lindisfarne Gospels and Magna Carta.

Open during normal British Library, London opening hours.
The Treasures Gallery will be closed between 18 August–27 September 2025. This is so we can make some changes to our climate control system which will reduce our power consumption whilst maintaining the highest environmental standards in our galleries for the items on display.
