About The Dylan Thomas Prize: A Shortlist Celebration

On the eve of International Dylan Thomas Day, meet the six shortlisted authors for this year’s Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize, the world’s largest literary award for young writers. They read from their acclaimed books and join award-winning Nigerian British author and Chair of the Judging Panel, Irenosen Okojie, MBE. in conversation. Previous winners have included Patricia Lockwood, Raven Leilani, Caleb Azumah Nelson and Max Porter.
This year's dazzling shortlist for the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize is:
- To Rest Our Minds and Bodies by Harriet Armstrong (Les Fugitives)
- We Pretty Pieces of Flesh by Colwill Brown (Chatto & Windus, Vintage)
- Joy is My Middle Name by Sasha Debevec-McKenney (Fitzcarraldo Editions)
- Under the Blue by Suzannah V. Evans (Bloomsbury Poetry)
- Open, Heaven by Seán Hewitt (Jonathan Cape, Vintage)
- Borderline Fiction by Derek Owusu (Canongate) – novel.
Featuring a live appearance by Côr Y Boro – Borough Welsh Choir.
This event takes place in The King's Library Restaurant, Level One, The British Library.
