To mark Disability History Month, historian David Turner discusses his ground-breaking new book, Disability: A History of Resistance, which places disabled people and their lives at the centre of the story of Britain from 1500 to the present day. David also traces the collective activism of disabled people in the 20th century, as they organised to demand equality and the right to live ordinary lives on their own terms.
