Global Food Stories
Years 3 – 6Join Michael Rosen to explore delicious tales from around the world, featuring mysterious treats, tempting wonders and magical morsels!
About Global Food Stories

To kick off the week of World Book Day®, join Michael Rosen, Sandra Agard and Emily Hanna-Grazebrook for a delicious journey through much-loved poems, global tales and traditional stories where food takes centre stage.
Exploring delicious tales from around the world, this interactive livestreamed session will feature mysterious treats, tempting wonders and magical morsels. Discover how writers across time and cultures have used food to spark imagination, build worlds and bring characters to life – from magical feasts to symbolic meals and morsels that set entire adventures in motion.
Supporting reading and writing for pleasure, this workshop will explore food that has magical powers; food that is dangerous or doesn't behave the way it should; food that teaches a lesson; and food that is celebratory.
Through fun creative prompts, draw-alongs and storytelling, students will be inspired to write food-themed tales of their own and create small storybooks. Submit their work to learning@bl.uk or share on X @BL_Learning for the chance to enter our exciting prize draw and win book tokens and a personal response from Michael Rosen.
