About Family Workshop: Sibéal Pounder

Two children sitting at a table and using craft materials

We're partnering with RNIB and VICTA for a Visual Impairment friendly workshop with Sibéal Pounder, writer of the World Book Day® 2026 book, Chaos at the Chocolate Factory.

Charlie Bucket is having a magical time learning to run Mr Willy Wonka’s famous chocolate factory. There are so many delicious new creations to be invented!

But everyone needs a holiday, even Oompa-Loompas. When Mr Wonka and the Oompa-Loompas decide it’s time to go on an adventure to look for marvellous new recipe ingredients, Charlie is left to run the factory by himself for the first time. And it’s fair to say things don’t quite go to plan...

Sibéal Pounder's World Book Day® book is inspired by Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Join us to discover her new story. Then get creative designing and making your very own sculptural, sensory Wonka creation in our pop-up factory.

The charity World Book Day® inspires every child to enjoy the life-changing benefits of reading for fun. Find out more about how you can pick up a copy of Sibéal Pounder's book Chaos at the Chocolate Factory with your World Book Day £1 book token.

About World Book Day®

World Book Day is a charity that champions reading for fun. That’s because it seriously improves lives.

In fact, it’s the biggest indicator that a child will grow up to enjoy a happier and more successful future. Today, only one in three children likes reading. By changing this, we’ll transform lives.

Together, let’s help every child enjoy the life-changing benefits of reading for fun.
