Family Workshop: Sensory Story Worlds
Join us for a visual impairment friendly story adventure at the Library.
About Family Workshop: Sensory Story Worlds
At this special sensory event, you'll get the opportunity to:
- play in our interactive family exhibition, Story Explorers
- experience sounds, puppets, music and tactile props in our sensory storytelling session
- create your own artwork exploring different textures and techniques
- read in our inclusive pop-up reading space, including braille and tactile books.
Have fun, get creative and make new friends as we explore and play together.
A dedicated sensory room is available and you will receive a described visual story in advance so you know what to expect. If you require any other access support, please e-mail familylearning@bl.uk.
RNIB is proud to partner with the British Library in designing and delivering the Sensory Story Worlds Family Workshops, building accessible activity options for those with vision impairment. RNIB has made activity recommendations and delivered vision awareness training, and RNIB staff will be attending the morning and afternoon Sensory Story Worlds workshops to support families with vision impairment as well as talk with any other British Library visitors.
Please book one ticket for each member of your group.
