Join us at this relaxed event where families will be able to explore the exhibition through familiar fairy tales, sensory activities and storytelling. This event has been designed with families of children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and/or complex communication needs in mind.
The event will offer a calmer, more flexible environment with:
- reduced visitor numbers
- lower sound levels
- sensory-friendly activities
- space to move around freely
- additional staff support available throughout the event.
Visitors are welcome to engage with the exhibition and activities at their own pace, and there is no expectation to participate in everything. Familiar stories such as Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel and The Three Billy Goats Gruff can help create a sense of comfort, predictability and enjoyment for visitors of all ages and developmental stages.
Please note that the rest of the Library is open to the general public.
