Punk: 50 Years of Rebellion, Creativity and Raw Energy
A cultural revolution that changed the world.
About Punk: 50 Years of Rebellion, Creativity and Raw Energy

Punk was a movement that shook the world in the late 1970s and changed culture forever. Its provocative, frenzied roots were in the New York underground, before it emerged triumphant, kicking and screaming at the top of the British pop charts, inspiring and appalling people in equal measure.
Fifty years ago, on November 6, 1975, the Sex Pistols gave their first, appropriately chaotic, performance at Saint Martin’s College of Art and within a few months the spirit and attitude of Punk had been let loose.
At this event special guests join writers and cultural insiders Chris Sullivan and Stephen Colegrave, whose newly published Punk: the Last Word is a bold, unflinching chronicle of Punk not just as a mere music genre or fashion statement, but as a free-thinking, egalitarian, DIY attitude that continues to challenge norms and empower individuals to live authentically. Packed with original interviews with the era’s most iconic figures – Don Letts, Adam Ant, Siouxsie Sioux, Howard Devoto, Glen Matlock, Mick Jones, and many more – it is book is a vivid, firsthand account of punk’s rise and explosion.
Chris, Stephen and guests are in conversation with acclaimed writer and broadcaster Miranda Sawyer.
Followed by a book signing.
