About Late at the Library: The Night Garden Party

Illuminated flower sculptures

Our magical festival Piazza comes alive with lights, plants, live music, DJs and stalls from an array of inspirational garden collectives, with the Unearthed exhibition included in your ticket.

Headlining on our garden bandstand is the incomparable Beth Orton, one of the finest singer songwriters of her generation, with an acoustic sundown performance in part drawn from her beautiful latest album Weather Alive, a moving gem that Beth initially crafted in her garden shed.

We close the night with a DJ set from innovative composer, artist, producer, and writer Matthew Herbert.

Arrive early for the Unearthed exhibition (open 18:30 – 21:30 with last entry at 21:00), or for an empowering conversation – A Garden Manifesto - with horticulturalists and artists, introduced by writer Olivia Laing and Richard Porter (19:00 – 20:15). Our opening DJ on the Night is Zakia Sewell (BBC Radio 6 Music.
