    Ben Aaronovitch is author of the bestselling Rivers of London series, which blends urban fantasy, crime and comedy against the backdrop of contemporary London.

    Born and raised in the city he modestly calls 'the capital of the world', he began his career writing for Doctor Who, Casualty and the science-fiction series Jupiter Moon. After a stint managing the Crime and Science Fiction sections at Waterstones Covent Garden, he turned to novel writing – and found instant success. Aaronovitch continues to live and write in London, where he insists he will remain until 'they prise it from my cold, dead fingers'. He is currently working on the next adventure in the Peter Grant series.

  • Mark Stay

    Mark Stay has worked in publishing for over 25 years, after starting out with a part-time Christmas job at Waterstone’s in the 1990s.

    Alongside his publishing career, he has written novels and screenplays, including The Witches of Woodville series (Simon & Schuster) and the 2023 Warner Bros. horror film Unwelcome. He co-created and co-presented the award-winning Bestseller Experiment podcast, which has inspired writers around the world, and now hosts Creative Differences, a podcast for authors and creatives. Born in London, Mark lives in Kent with his family and a small flock of retired chickens.
